Tuesday Prayer: Finishing Well

Tuesday Prayer: Finishing Well

Father, I'm halfway through September and the temptation is to coast. The month's novelty is gone, initial enthusiasm has faded, and I'm in the boring middle where nothing feels exciting. The end isn't near enough to generate final push energy. I'm tempted to lower standards, settle for minimal effort, drift rather than press forward.

But the middle miles are where races are won. The boring middle is where character forms. The unglamorous ordinary is where faithfulness proves itself. Help me resist the temptation to coast. Give me energy to press harder in the middle, strength to maintain what I started, endurance to continue when nothing's exciting.

Fifteen days left in September. Help me finish stronger than I started. Let me prove that my faithfulness doesn't depend on novelty or proximity to goals but on commitment to continue regardless of conditions. At the proper time I'll reap a harvest if I don't give up. Help me not give up in the middle.
