Tuesday Prayer: Use My Weakness
Father, I feel weak and inadequate. I can't do what you're asking. I don't have the capability, resources, or strength required. I'm tempted to disqualify myself, to wait until I'm stronger, to hide my weakness and pretend competence I don't have. But Paul learned that when he was weak, then he was strong - because weakness forced dependence on you that strength prevented.
Help me see my weakness as gift rather than disqualification. Use my inadequacy to display your power in ways my strength would obscure. When I'm capable, I trust myself. When I'm weak, I have no choice but to trust you. That's when your strength shows most clearly. Don't let me wait until I feel strong enough. Help me obey now and trust you to provide strength as needed.
Change how I view my weakness. Stop seeing it as something to hide or overcome and start seeing it as opportunity for your power to work. When I feel inadequate, remind me that you specialize in using inadequate people for significant purposes. My weakness forces me to depend on you. That's when I'm truly strong - not in myself, but in you.
