Tuesday Prayer: Weary in Late Summer
Father, I'm weary. Summer has been long, demands haven't paused, and I'm depleted in ways rest hasn't fully addressed. Like Elijah under the broom bush, I'm thinking "I've had enough." I don't lack faith; I lack energy. The journey has been too much for my current capacity.
Thank you for not condemning weariness or demanding I push through depletion. You provided Elijah food, water, and sleep - basic care for depleted body. You acknowledged the journey was legitimately hard. You gave strength for what came next rather than criticism for what had passed.
Help me acknowledge my weariness honestly, accept basic care without guilt, reduce expectations temporarily without abandoning faithfulness. Give me strength to walk without fainting even if I can't soar or run. That's enough for now. You renew strength for those who wait on you. I'm waiting. Please renew.
