Wednesday Prayer: Ordinary Spirit Power
Father, Pentecost happened, the Spirit came, the church was born in dramatic fashion. But now I'm in ordinary days - routine work, daily responsibilities, mundane moments. I'm tempted to separate "spiritual experiences" from "normal life," creating compartments where you operate dramatically sometimes but barely register most of the time.
Help me recognize that the Spirit who fell at Pentecost lives in me continuously, not occasionally. He empowers ordinary faithfulness as surely as extraordinary witness. I don't need to recreate past spiritual highs - I need to access present spiritual power for today's requirements.
Show me your presence in mundane moments - peace when I should panic, strength to forgive the unforgivable, persistence to keep obeying when I'm tired. These quiet evidences of your Spirit matter as much as spectacular manifestations. Pentecost power isn't just for dramatic moments. It's for ordinary days. Fill me again. Empower me now. Help me live Spirit-filled ordinary life.
