Wednesday Prayer: When You Don't Intervene

Father, I don't understand why you let evil triumph, why you don't stop catastrophes, why innocents suffer while wickedness goes unpunished. I want explanations you're not giving, answers you're not providing, intervention you're not performing. This is hard. My faith strains under the weight of what you allow.

But I choose to trust even when I don't understand. You didn't spare your own Son but let evil do its worst to him - and through that horror accomplished my redemption. If you can work good through that, you can work good through anything. If the cross doesn't answer why you allow suffering, it proves you can redeem it.

Help me live in this tension - honestly acknowledging evil's reality while trusting your ultimate sovereignty, grieving present suffering while hoping for future restoration. I don't need all the answers. I need to know you're faithful even when you don't intervene the way I want. You are. That's enough.
